A2A, PMDG, and Majestic all behave realistically and mostly feel realistic, but if they were in X-Plane they'd have that extra bit of magic you know? Both sims are equal in realism. On P3D I love A2A, PMDG, Majestic Q400, ORBX, ActiveSky. Unless P3D has very specific planes or other addons that you really really want to have the best of, X-Plane 11 will be able to satisfy your realism needs.Ĭurrently I love SimCoders (GA), IXEG (737 classic), FlyJSim (727)(eventually Q400.), and the ORBX True Earth Washington (releasing in June of this year.yes I already love it yet don't have it) Especially if you're trying to keep a budget. With that said, if you don't have many or any addons purchased for P3D v4 then I'd probably not get into it at this point. I have both sims, mostly invested in P3D and I keep both installed and I fly on both. It offers superior sim experience compared to P3D if you are not going to spend hundreds of dollars. But for beginner and especially on budget you can only go with X-Plane 11. P3D can be good if you arte willing to invest a lot of money into it. Almost all higher quality aircraft for P3D cost over 100$. Most expensive thing I've bought to X-Plane was Flight Factor A320 which costs around 80$ and equivalent for P3D costs ~140$. Also buying aircraft is much more expensive (tho there is a lot more available). You are pretty much forced to buy "essential add on" to make sim look something that you see on this subreddit.

I haven't personally bought any airports and still I always manage to find nice free one to use. Not to talk all utilities which are free (Better Pushback, Avitab) Also most airports have average free scenery. You can get maybe the best aircraft made for X-Plane 11 totally free (Zibo 737) also you can get completely free photo scenery (Orhto4XP). You can get actual sim (which is pretty good out of box) from sales that happen every now and then.
When ever this is criteria then X-Plane 11 is only way to go.
